The Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST) is the peak representative body for the $1.3 trillion profit-to-member superannuation sector.

The AIST Super Grads program identifies and develops recent university graduates who are employed with our member funds that want to make a difference to the quality of retirement for Australians. We have an exciting 12-month fixed term opportunity that will see you employed by ME Bank with the Information Technology team.

Let's talk about ME

We're not like other banks.

ME was created by the industry super funds to be different from the pack – and we're passionate about staying that way as we head into an exciting and progressive future.

We are building a bank, a company and a brand that we can be proud of – but to achieve that, we need the best people. To help ME get there, you'll challenge the status quo and share extraordinary ideas – and our size guarantees you'll have the opportunity, support, and environment to be heard.

ME's core purpose is helping all Australians get ahead – no conditions, asterisks or exceptions.

We believe everyone deserves the same opportunities in life, regardless of gender or identity, sexuality, ethnicity or religion. This is why we're so committed to an equal opportunity workplace – because we know our success won't come from focusing on similarities, but by embracing and celebrating our diversity.

Let's talk about YOU!

We're looking for graduates who are passionate and curious to learn, and who are seeking a challenging and rewarding career at ME.

As a ME AIST Super Grad, you'll work on exciting projects that encourage you to think outside the box - changing the way we do business.

Your SuperGrad placement will be tailored to suit your skills, capabilities and knowledge. Placements are designed to give you broad experience and introduce you to corporate life at Australia's coolest bank. You'll work at the operational level as well as have the opportunity to work with senior level management.

As part of the graduate program, we'll provide:

  • Experiences in genuine roles, doing real and meaningful work that contributes to ME's purpose and goals
  • Learning and development opportunities provided by the Super Funds
  • A committed team to support you as you go, with supportive managers providing feedback along the way
  • Exposure to senior leaders
  • a fun and inclusive culture with networking events to help you build connections
  • Opportunities to take ownership of or get involved in projects, initiatives and committees

We're looking for graduates who have:

  • An undergraduate IT discipline qualification
  • Successfully graduated from an Australian University in 2017 or 2018, and able to start full time employment in February 2019
  • Empathy for our customers – someone who can put themselves in their shoes to understand their needs
  • Adaptability to change, deal with ambiguity and work in an iterative/agile way of working
  • A flair for innovation and thinking differently
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in solving problems, and can think conceptually
  • The ability to leverage data to make informed decisions
  • Confidence to scope activity, agree expectations, manage time and prioritise tasks
  • Experience in meeting deadlines and working in a team (corporate experience isn't a requirement)
  • A general understanding of ME - we're looking for people who are passionate about working for ME, who want to be part of our journey and build a career in our organisation
  • An understanding of the banking or financial services sector will be highly regarded but not essential
  • Extracurricular involvement - we're not only looking for high academic achievers. Maybe you've travelled, coached a junior volleyball team or worked in the community

About the Perks

At ME, we believe that work should be a place that you can make the most of – and these are just some of the many reasons why people love it here:

  • Popular culture – that's not a claim, we've got the data to prove it. We genuinely care about each other and work in an encouraging and collaborative environment.
  • The whole package – sure, we're going to reward you well with your salary package – but there are also lots of other perks – including free health support, conveniently-located offices, plus much more.
  • Not afraid to fail? We embrace action-oriented people like you. That's right, you can make mistakes here and it's ok – so long as you learn from them.
  • To be ME, we need you – we're building something really cool and you get to directly influence what that is.
  • ProudlyME – our internal pride network – has a swag of initiatives that show support, education, and passion toward our team and customers, demonstrating that ME is a strong advocate on equal rights for the LGBTIQ+ community.
  • Meet the Execs – our Executive team is fun and full of passion because we know great managers mean happy staff.
  • Oh, and did we mention you get your very own ME branded Converse High-top shoes? Now that's a reason to get your foot in the door.
