About Anabranch

Anabranch is a company builder. We create and launch businesses 100% in-house, from concept to full-scale operations.

Our approach is simple; we find broken markets and work closely with specially selected founders to design the business and create world-class products that will serve them properly. We support the founder to grow the concept into an operating business on an aggressive timeframe. Once the business is established, we continue to support with strategy, execution, M&A and exit advisory. Our mandate is to grow legendary companies, and this isn’t our first rodeo. We shipped our first product in 2015, and have since launched three businesses and 11 products that reach over 1m users annually. And we’re just getting started.

The business with the best team on the field will win, and we hire the best people who we can trust to excel and put their ideas into action. You’ll be joining a high-performance culture and team with a track record of building businesses that disrupt markets.

About the role

We are looking for a serious hustler, someone who sees opportunities and grabs it with both hands. The applicant doesn’t need to have a background in digital marketing, but should be interested in the space and have an attitude that anything can be mastered through hard work and a willingness to learn.

The objective of the role is to drive website traffic to our portfolio websites, primarily PostgradAustralia.com.au and TheUniGuide.com.au (launching soon). The majority of the content will therefore revolve around higher education and the university/student experience.

The role will encompass all aspects of user acquisition through content marketing tactics. It will involve developing strategies for content marketing and implementing them by creating, editing and distributing content through online and offline channels.

The role will involve managing a number of freelance writers and offshore content editors, as well as writing articles and creating content from scratch.

The applicant will work across multiple channels, including social media, organic, email, referral and print.

What success looks like

Success in this role will be measured by website traffic on PostgradAustralia.com.au and TheUniGuide.com.au. Initially, we will monitor performance at the input level, based on the quantity and quality of content produced. As your experience in the subject matter grows, performance will be measured based on outputs such as user traffic, time on site, and sign-ups.

The successful applicant will demonstrate an ability to learn quickly and hone their skills. They will interact well with multiple internal and external stakeholders and become a valued member of our growing team.

Skills required

The applicant should be an excellent writer; able to write engaging articles for a variety of audiences and edit work written by others according to a style guide.

The following skills are considered essential for this role:

  • University degree in anything with distinction average (or a good reason why not, e.g. “I was busy saving the world from extraterrestrial invasions).
  • Outstanding writing skills
  • Good design sense
  • Digital native with an in depth understanding of how young Australians consume media online
  • Tech savvy with an ability and willingness to learn how to use software independently
  • Analytical mindset with an ability to diagnose trends to find underlying drivers
  • Hard working, results driven, ethical, and a team player
  • The following skills are non-essential but will be looked on favourable for this role:
  • Prior digital marketing experience
  • High grades in quantitative subjects
  • Editorial experience

  • Permanent role – 38 hours per week Monday to Friday – 9.00 – 5.30pm
