What is the role?

It’s rare to find a role that gives you such early exposure to clients across multiple asset classes. Our Analytics and Sales programme in Sydney offers you the unrivalled opportunity to:

  • Join our Analytics team where you’ll be the first point of contact to users of the terminal. You are depended on to provide fast and accurate solutions to incoming client queries. To ensure that you understand our product and the markets our clients operate in, we’ll provide you with a comprehensive training programme, covering all aspects of the financial markets - economic principles, market players and asset classes. We’ll also teach you all there is to know about the functionality and analytical tools the Bloomberg Terminal has to offer.
  • After 18-24 months, you’ll move to our Sales team working with existing clients and have the responsibility and autonomy to identify new business opportunities. You’ll be responsible for maintaining our position as a market leader by helping to grow our business and advise top decision makers in the worlds of finance, government and business across Australia/NZ.

Analytics (1-2 years)

On the Analytics Help Desk, our clients always come first. We provide round-the-clock support for Bloomberg Terminal users all over the world and across multiple industries. We interact directly with clients via our 'Instant Bloomberg' chat system, answering their questions and helping them extract maximum use out of their Bloomberg Terminal.

We’re a calm voice in a busy, volatile market. Our clients rely on us to help them make better, faster decisions using the power of the Bloomberg Terminal. On any given day we respond to over 12,000 queries in more than 15 languages. The variety of the problems we solve is incredible. One moment, we could be working with a Portfolio Manager who’s worried about risk. We show them how to use the Risk
Analytics platform to find the most volatile securities in their holdings. The next - we may be chatting to a trader who needs help understanding the liquidity profile of two potential investments. We teach them how to size them up against each other.

Analytics is a constantly evolving department and due to the vast amount of expertise across all subjects, Analytics is responsible not just for answering incoming questions but also providing dedicated on client-site training, client seminars, supporting product rollouts through calling campaigns, and much more.

Three of our goals are:

1. Resolve 75% of all questions in under 30 minutes
Our Clients depends on us to provide the fastest, highest-quality service possible so they can get back into the market as quickly as possible. When we’re asked a question, we strive to respond in a rapid and accurate manner.

2. Provide proactive training to clients
We want to share our knowledge as much as possible so that our customers are always using the most suitable tools for their individual needs, and conducting on-site or remote client training is the best way to do that.

3. Support product rollouts
Our Product and Engineering departments are constantly refining the Terminal through adding and improving functionality. Ensuring clients are aware of the latest developments and understanding how they can fit into their work is no small task, and so Analytics is relied upon to enter in to these conversations.

Sales and Relationship Management

After training as a true Bloomberg specialist in Analytics, you join our team of highly-motivated, financially-astute relationship managers, whose role it is to lead and grow our business across Australia and New Zealand.

We give you real responsibility and autonomy to handle your existing clients, while also looking to you to identify new business opportunities throughout your region. You will take a truly consultative approach to the sales process, deeply understanding your clients' businesses as you visit, support, train and sell to market players from across the industry.

Furthermore, you will actively partner with other internal business areas in order to meet your clients' needs as accurately and as comprehensively as possible.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree (upcoming or recent graduates- up to 3 years work experience)
  • Demonstrated passion or interest in the financial markets, and a strong desire to work in the financial services industry
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment
  • Real aspiration to work in a client-facing role, with a strong interest in building relationships while sellinga premium product
  • Citizenship or permanent residency of Australia or New Zealand

We'd love to see:

  • Degree in a Finance, Economics or Social Sciences discipline
  • Prior knowledge or experience of the Bloomberg Terminal
  • Work-experience in a client-facing role
  • Interest in technology
