The opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is looking for Graduate Software Engineers to support the AEW&C Ground Support Segments. The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) E-7A Wedgetail Aircraft is undergoing a Major Upgrades and Sustainment programs and we want you to be a part of the team that supports this upgrade and the ongoing sustainment of the platform. This role is based in the Simulation team at RAAF Base Williamtown.

This position will include full software development life cycle (SDLC) activities (planning, software requirements, software design, code development, code unit test, code review, integration, documentation, product and customer support).You will gain experience in software integration, unit and integrated testing, the application and integration of COTS products, experience with software tools and the application of software design.

Responsibilities

  • Software engineering activities from user interface to back-end services, including software requirements analysis and specification, functional analysis, software design and development, software integration and test
  • Conducting activities in accordance with project plans, and established processes, practices and standards, while continually seeking out opportunities for process improvement
  • Engaging effectively with other team members
  • Estimate task complexity and implementation duration, identify risks and issues, provide task status and actively participate in a dynamic team environment.

To be successful you will have:

  • Graduated or about to Graudate from university with Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar degree.
  • Experience in Windows, Linux operating systems
  • Experience with Microsoft .NET Frameworks and Languages
  • Experience with Java Frameworks and Language
  • Experience with C++/CORBA/Real Time Systems
  • Experience in complex, multi-threaded, server-client based systems
  • Familiarity with source code control and document configuration management systems (Atlassian, Git)
  • Simulation experience would be beneficial.
  • Exposure to LEAN+/AGILE methodologies
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
