10 months paid to study at the Bureau Meteorology Training Centre – Broadmeadows. Upon successful completion, graduates are likely to be relocated interstate, where customers and the community need them most.

Work with Australia's most trusted source of weather, water, climate and ocean services. 

As a Graduate Meteorologist you will begin your career by undertaking a paid ten-month formal training course at the Bureau's Training Centre in Broadmeadows, Melbourne. Working hours will be 9 am-5 pm, Monday to Friday commencing in early February and finishing in mid-November. 

We're the only Australian education provider to offer an internationally recognised Graduate Diploma in Meteorology that meets the World Meteorological Organization standard.

We are invested in your development from the onset. As part of our Graduate Program, you will have a committed team to support your transition to operations, including access to a senior leader mentor for strategic business guidance and a buddy for career advice and support.

As a Graduate, you will:

  • Use scientific techniques, including data visualisation to analyse, interpret and forecast atmospheric conditions
  • Prepare and communicate weather forecasts
  • Be closely involved in issuing weather warnings
  • Engage deeply with customers to understand their business needs and provide expertise and advice to assist their business decision making
  • Collaborate with other specialised professionals with hydrological, climatological and communication expertise
