The Department of Home Affairs is offering a number of paid summer clerkships, to be completed between late November 2019 and mid-February 2020 as part of its annual Legal Summer Clerk Program.
As one of the largest in-house government legal practices you will get the opportunity to:
- experience working in a high profile government agency
- develop core legal skills
- work across a breadth of legal practices
- be at the forefront of cutting edge administrative law challenges and reform
- work on cases which will end up in future law textbooks!
We are committed to our team, providing them with training, development and other opportunities. This includes an orientation/induction program and mentoring opportunities as part of the Summer Clerk Program.
We are looking for individuals who:
- are team players
- have a good work ethic
- have a client service focus
- have excellent communications skills
- have the ability to work in an agile environment.
Candidates must also be:
- available for the duration of the Summer Clerk Program (late November 2019 to mid-February 2020);
- an Australian citizen (APS requirement);
- undertaking a law degree (in your final or penultimate year of studies in 2020); and
- able to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance and a Security Clearance.
