At GB, we support individuals who have been injured in the workplace, and assist in their return to employment. It requires care and compassion. And our Claims Consultants are there every step of the way, supporting the individual's recovery, liaising with employers and treating health practitioners, and positively influencing the return to work process.

In our Self-Insurance division, our claims team works closely with our clients, the employers. This partnership helps employers reduce their insurance costs, and improve their business performance and safety record, whilst also supporting the return to work process.

As an intern at GB, you will be a part of our Gallagher Bassett family. You will work alongside experienced and dedicated claims staff, and be exposed to a wide variety of roles and processes within the Self-Insurance division. You will receive an individualised development program, and participate in activities such as role shadowing, project work, and performing the specific duties of a Claims Consultant.

Aside from the regular coaching and support from your manager and team, and ongoing interaction with the wider intern group, you will also be assigned a mentor to ensure you get the best possible experience.

At the end of the six-week program, we also hope you've gained valuable insight into the insurance industry and a possible career with GB after graduation.

We're looking for motivated individuals who are keen to explore a possible career in the insurance industry. Are you completing a degree in psychology or health sciences? Our most successful claims interns have come from these areas. They were not set on following a clinical path, but still sought a rewarding and meaningful career.

Candidates must have a passion for helping others, as this is part of our DNA at Gallagher Bassett. We're here to support people through a difficult time, and empathy is important.

Another key component of our selection process is cultural fit. We have a strong culture here at GB, and we want to know that students entering our organisation will feel right at home. We encourage you to read about our vision and company values on our website to learn more. We call it The Gallagher Way.
