SIX-WEEKS PAID INTERNSHIP – AUSTRALIA'S NUMBER ONE PROGRAM

Make a positive impact on people's lives!

Imagine the satisfaction of helping someone get back work after a significant workplace injury. You're there every step of the way, supporting their recovery. That's what our Return to Work Specialists do every day. You're on the road meeting face-to-face with injured workers, their employers, and treating health practitioners, and positively influencing the entire return to work process.

Our internship program is providing a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced and dedicated Return to Work Specialists (RTWS), and gain an understanding of this important role. We also have a number of roles at GB that help support and compliment the work of a RTWS. You will gain an understanding of how these roles and processes come together on a day to day basis as well as have an opportunity to contribute to a project designed to improve the experience of stakeholders within the return to work scheme.

THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

We are opening doors to a long-term successful career. In 2018, GB was ranked as having the NUMBER ONE internship program in Australia! Our interns have loved their experience with us!

This year, we're looking for one motivated individual to join our South Australian Return to Work Specialist team. You will be part of a wider group of interns joining our business across our offices in 2019.

What's included?

  • six-weeks paid work experience over summer (January/February 2019)
  • a three-day orientation in our Brisbane corporate head office, with flights and accommodation provided
  • the opportunity to apply your knowledge to challenging, meaningful work
  • one-on-one mentoring
  • relevant training and development
  • a pathway to possible employment opportunities post-graduation.

Here are a few comments from previous interns:

  • 'Absolutely amazing experience.'
  • 'Great environment and culture!'
  • 'The whole experience will be very difficult to beat. I have truly loved every minute of it!'

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The Return to Work Specialist role requires a confident and mature individual. The role liaises with a broad range of clients and stakeholders, and you must understand and manage each stakeholder's unique needs. Therefore, a successful RTWS must display the following personal attributes:

  • customer service focus
  • resilience
  • emotional intelligence
  • empathy
  • strong work ethic
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Students applying for this intern position must be able to demonstrate their work experience, and will be asked to confirm their suitability for the position based on the personal attributes listed above.

As part of the requirements from Return to Work SA, the ideal candidate will also have several years work experience history.

So, do you have a passion for helping others? Are you currently studying allied health, psychology, health sciences, O/T, exercise science, or perhaps mid-career change, with a background in nursing or physiotherapy? Are you excited about the unique opportunity this role presents? Then we'd love to hear from you!

Other key criteria:

  • You are a domestic student, with Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
  • You are scheduled to complete your studies mid-2019 or end-2019.

Selection Process

  1. Online application
  2. Psychometric testing – Short-listed candidates only.
