SIX-WEEKS PAID INTERNSHIP – AUSTRALIA'S NUMBER ONE PROGRAM

Make a positive impact on people's lives!

At GB, one of our key responsibilities is to support individuals who have been injured in the workplace, and assisting in their return to employment. It requires care and compassion. And our Claims Officers are there every step of the way, supporting the individual's recovery, liaising with employers and treating health practitioners, and positively influencing the return to work process.

In our Self-Insurance division, our claims team works particularly closely with our clients, the employers. This partnership helps employers reduce their insurance costs, and improve their business performance and safety record, whilst also supporting the return to work process.

As an intern at GB, you will be a part of our Gallagher Bassett family. You will work alongside experienced and dedicated claims staff, and be exposed to a wide variety of roles and processes within the Self-Insurance division. You will receive an individualised development program, and participate in activities such as role shadowing, project work, and performing the specific duties of a Claims Officer.

Aside from the regular coaching and support from your manager and team, and ongoing interaction with the wider intern group, you will be assigned a mentor to ensure you get the best possible experience. And at the end of the six-week program, we also hope you've gained valuable insight into the insurance industry and a possible career with GB after graduation.

OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

We are opening doors to a long-term successful career. In 2018, GB was ranked as having the NUMBER ONE internship program in Australia! Our interns have loved their experience with us!

This year, we're looking for two motivated students to join our Self-Insurance Claims team in Darwin. You will be part of a wider group of interns joining our business across our offices in 2019.

What's included?

  • six-weeks paid work experience over summer (January/February 2019)
  • a three-day orientation in our Brisbane corporate head office, with flights and accommodation provided
  • the opportunity to apply your knowledge to challenging, meaningful work
  • one-on-one mentoring
  • relevant training and development
  • a pathway to possible employment opportunities post-graduation.

Here are a few comments from previous interns:

  • 'Absolutely amazing experience.'
  • 'Great environment and culture!'
  • 'The whole experience will be very difficult to beat. I have truly loved every minute of it!'
  • 'This has been a really valuable experience. The internship is awesome to get an insight into the corporate world, creating networks, and for personal growth and character building. This has been very valuable in 'kick-starting' my future career aspirations in the business world.'
