      About the Internship Opportunity

      The ICT Team are looking for an Intern to provide systems security support on a six month contract, commencing as soon as possible.  Supporting the finance team with their reports and making security improvements to current systems. Should you excel in your internship and enjoy your experiences with the team, you may be provided with the opportunity to secure a coveted place within our Austal 2022 Graduate Development Program.

      About Austal

      • Austal Australia offers an exciting, dynamic working environment with the opportunity to contribute to some of the world’s most advanced defence shipbuilding programs.
      • In Australia, defence vessels are designed, constructed and sustained at Austal Australia’s Henderson, Western Australia facility. Employing approximately 600 people, the facility is the home to the Cape Class Patrol Boat (CCPB) and High Speed Support Vessel (HSSV) programs. In addition, Austal Australia operates service centres in Darwin in the Northern Territory and Cairns in Queensland.
      • Austal Australia delivers the full lifecycle of support services to customers, from acquisition to sustainment and beyond; managing the design and construction of each vessel from start to finish. This provides excellent opportunities within design, production and support services for our highly skilled staff to utilise their talents and develop themselves and our teams, further.

      Eligibility

      Values alignment and leadership potential is just as important to us as your technical background and for this reason it is important for you to possess: 

      • Be actively undertaking/or completed relevant tertiary studies within Computer Science 
      • Possess advanced skills in Excel Macros and Visual Basic exposure
      • Sound problem solving and trouble shooting skills 
      • Demonstrate accountability 
      • The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and deliver a high level of customer service.
