Your role:

As a Training Systems Specialist in the Navy, you'll work as part of a team providing support to Navy's large, diverse and complex training systems. You'll be responsible for identifying competency needs and developing programs in order to meet Navy operational capability.

Your core duties include, but aren't limited to:

  • Develop, design and evaluate training solutions and workplace assessment processes
  • Training management and governance
  • Facilitate the training and development of instructors across the Navy
  • Identify individual competency needs
  • Administration of training and assessment systems
  • Provide advice on education and training policy.

In addition to your core duties, you'll be involved in providing leadership, management, and administrative support as well as career advice to junior Navy personnel. As you progress through your career, you'll be more involved in the coordination and management of the Navy's training effort.

Life in the Navy:

A career in the Navy is a challenging and highly rewarding working environment that comes with good work/life balance, competitive salary and skills for life. You can expect to feel a unique sense of accomplishment and pride from serving and protecting our country and helping to keep our vast coastlines safe.

Life in the Navy is anything but mundane. You'll enjoy varied lifestyles, rewarding careers, opportunities to travel, and excellent social and fitness facilities, free medical and dental; all in a dynamic and fulfilling working environment.

Most roles within the training systems specialisation are based ashore at Navy or Defence bases, however, there are some opportunities to serve on ships at sea directly supporting the training requirements of larger ships at sea, which could see you exploring exciting new countries with your fellow crewmates.

Salary:

When you first join the Navy and while studying for your degree at the university of your choice, you will be paid a salary of between $32,000- $50,000 depending on your year of study. This is in addition to your university sponsorship.

Upon completion of your degree and initial military and employment training, you'll enjoy a competitive starting salary package of $84,586 including service and uniform allowances. For periods when you are serving on a ship, you will receive an additional maritime allowance.

In addition to your salary, you will receive generous superannuation, housing subsidies and free medical and dental care.

Apply Now:

For this role, you must be an Australian Citizen and able to meet the minimum security, medical and fitness requirements. You will also need to provide evidence that you have completed 6-months full-time of a Bachelor degree in either Adult Learning, Vocational Education and Training, Training and Development, or Secondary Education.
