My time at the ANAO has given me exposure to many different areas of government across a variety of different audits.

I was attracted to the ANAO Graduate Program because it offered a great opportunity to work in the Australian Public Service and contribute to meaningful work. Having previously worked for the Queensland State Government, I wanted to challenge myself by getting out of my comfort zone and experience working for the public service on a national scale.

I work as financial statements auditor in the Assurance Audit Service Group. My time at the ANAO has given me exposure to many different areas of government across a variety of different audits. I am working on audits related to both the Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities, as well as the Clean Energy Regulator. The work I do is challenging, engaging and interesting. I learn something new every day, as every day is different. I am part of a great team and mentored by an ace manager, all of whom have given me strong developmental support in my graduate year.

As part of my graduate year, I have been fortunate enough to complete a rotation in the Performance Audit Service Group contributing to the Annual Performance Statements Audit. This has been exciting developing skills in a different audit environment to the financial statement audits I’ve been used to. It was extremely valuable working with this team and learning how a different area of audit operates.

The process of moving to Canberra was easy and I can honestly say I love living here. I have made lots of friends within the graduate cohort, and we are constantly taking advantage of the many events and food markets held around Canberra each weekend.
