How did you get to your current job position? For how long have you had it?
I met an Azure representative at a FAWA networking function in 2016. I decided to apply, and was offered a first round interview. I went through the interview process and secured an Associate position for February 2017, which I have been in since.
Why did you choose corporate advisory?
During my studies I found the corporate finance units the most interesting and engaging, so I decided this was the field I wanted to work in. I also wanted a work environment that is fast-paced and offers the opportunity to work across a variety of industries.
What do you love the most about your job? Which kind of task do you enjoy the most?
The culture and people at Azure are definitely a big highlight. There is a strong team spirit and a lot of support from senior staff which makes working here very enjoyable. My favourite task is financial modelling as it is involves continuous problem solving, which I enjoy.
What advice would you give to someone starting out in a similar role?
Be open and eager to learn - there will be a lot to digest initially and the quicker you can nail down the basics the easier it will get. You will inevitably make mistakes at the beginning but it is all part of the learning process.
