I started with Bupa as part of the Graduate Nurse Leadership Program in the February 2014 intake at one of our Sydney care homes. While working as a Registered Nurse I developed both clinically and managerially with the support of my Care Managers, Clinical Manager and General Manager.
The Graduate Nurse Leadership Program taught me how to successfully run a cohesive team while implementing the legislative requirements of the Australian Aged Care Sector.
After nine months of working as a Registered Nurse Team Leader I was given the opportunity to become a Care Manager for one of our communities. This transition was met by a wealth of support and ongoing professional development and mentorship.
Since then I have continued to grow through the various opportunities Bupa has provided, examples include: working at one of our homes in Canberra for six weeks on a secondment, acting as Chief Nurse, assisting with hiring new graduates, building a team towards clinical excellence to provide a better experience for our residents and an abundance of education.
