What was it that drew you to a career at Capgemini initially?
I first heard about Capgemini through a mentor who worked for a competitor. I was interested in how extensive Capgeminis international operations were. Throughout the application process, I felt supported and encouraged, which was very different from my other experiences.

How have your studies helped you in your current role at Capgemini?
I studied Mathematics and Physics, which gave me frameworks and a highly structured way of thinking. This background helped me to not only solve complex problems but define them as well. My university studies also developed my collaboration skills which are used every day at Capgemini.
What are you passionate about in your role?
With the development of Artificial Intelligence and rapid growth in its potential applications, I am witnessing examples of businesses across industries innovating with this new technology. As such, I am continually learning and finding new skills to learn and develop.
What does a typical day look like for you, and what are you currently working on?
Currently, I am helping to bring together sources of information from around the business into one place so that the customer and their needs can be better understood. This work involves discussion with holders of this information, navigating large volumes of data, and building virtual infrastructure in which to house it all.
Tell us about your work-life harmony at Capgemini?
Fun is one of Capgemini's values, and my co-workers assist me in making sure I don't forget it. More seriously, there are plenty of opportunities to engage in sporting activities within or outside of Capgemini. Everyone values diversity and that includes the diversity within an individual.
How would you describe the culture at Capgemini?
Capgemini puts its people at the heart of the business. This framework manifests itself throughout the company as individuals feel empowered to add their benefit while growing and developing themselves.
What has been the most empowering moment in your Capgemini career journey?
Volunteering at events that Capgemini hosts with universities, I found it empowering to help steer students interests and be an ambassador for the firm. Seeing the opportunities that are coming out for university students is amazing and helping out to bridge that gap between education and work is something that resonates with a younger version of me.
How does Capgemini help support your sense of purpose in your career?
There is an established understanding that where one is passionate, that is where they will excel, this is called "La Niaque" which roughly translates to "fire in the belly". There are plenty of opportunities to not only discover where that is but also to take it further once you find it.
What have you gained from working at Capgemini from a career perspective?
The two main things I've gained are a vast amount of technical knowledge and a sense of confidence in my ability to develop technical skills. The second thing is an awareness of the importance of soft skills, such as facilitating good teamwork.
