Pros & Cons

  • The people, the culture, and the variety of the work I do. The onboarding program and support after are unmatched.
  • The culture and commitment to work-life balance. The culture is very welcoming and supportive and everyone is so genuine and nice.
  • The company is very employee-oriented, providing great support and opportunities. From offering great employee benefits to professional development opportunities as well interpersonal growth opportunities such as soft-skills training classes Capgemini really is the most ideal company to work at!
  • The support that you get from managers and colleagues for career development. The flexibility in terms of how and where you want to work from. The resources to execute your work. It's a great ecosystem.
  • The people and the work culture are amazing. Everyone has the best intentions and wants you to grow in your graduate year. I absolutely love the stream of work I'm in and enjoy learning about it through collaboration with higher-level consultants, managers, and directors.
  • Wouldn't call it out as the worst but something I found surprising is the amount of coworker turnover at the company.
  • The type/amount of work you receive is inconsistent due to the nature of consulting companies.
  • As it is a large company you can sometimes feel lost in it all.
  • The location is quite far from me so the commute gets tiring if I'm in the office for more than 2 days straight.
  • Capgemini has a lot of positive aspects, there may be some areas for improvement like base compensation and other corporate benefits

Corporate Social Responsibility
We have a myriad of initiatives to get employees talking and learning about CSR. Our communities are a point of reference for this. Seeing this sparked me to get involved where possible and I was privileged enough to be a co-facilitator for our company Diversity Cafe sessions. Diversity Cafe allows communities to speak about unique topics and open discussion on said topics in an empathetic way. I've really enjoyed helping plan and hearing from speakers talking about topics they are passionate about.

Culture
The culture at Capgemini is unmatched. Everyone is very inclusive and open-minded. They welcome the grads and new hires and always try to get to know them, especially the onboarding leaders and grad coaches they made me feel safe and excited to work the next day. My friends in the cohort are also lovely and work is never boring with them. We have a number of communities dedicated to supporting everyone's identity such as OUTFRONT (LGBTIQA+), Women @ Capgemini, Neurodivergent, Multicultural Mosaic, and many more.

Satisfaction
My role as an associate consultant, specifically as a graduate, working within Capgemini Invent has unlocked a level of support that I didn't expect. We are really well taken care of and pushed to be the best version of ourselves. The amount of resources, time, and effort put into developing our skills and all-roundedness is commendable and deeply appreciated. On a day-to-day working on a client involves attending daily standups, coordinating meetings, conducting stakeholder interviews, and essentially building a strong relationship with the client. On top of client work and responsibilities, contributing to internal initiatives and learning & development workshops is also a part of my day-to-day.

Management
Yes, they are great communicators and helped guide me when starting out. They always know what to do when something goes wrong. The Onboarding manager as well as my graduate coach in particular are great mentors in the way they have supported the grads; through training, wellbeing support, getting us on clients, and introducing us to other workers in the company. They have made my stay here unmatched.

Our Melbourne office is clean and aesthetically pleasing. We have a great view across our level and really pristine working spaces making it a treat to come into the office. I can't forget about our in-house barista who is AMAZING and the fresh fruit that is available every morning. Our dress code is business casual and we take that very seriously - we have super stylish colleagues in our office! :)

Recruitment
The interview process was relatively similar to other companies although a contact was provided for trans and gender diverse people to reach out to if needed which was amazing and supportive. The application process took longer than I would have liked. Otherwise it was great.

The pay is quite good, especially compared to other opportunities. It is not the highest-paying opportunity available, but after one year at the company you receive an immediate pay rise and of course, it will increase from there. Overall I am satisfied with the amount.

Training

Training
The company offers great training and development programs. During the initial induction period, we were able to receive detailed training on key skills to become a consultant. Apart from this, we also have monthly soft-skill training sessions such as how to network, and how to have a good work-life balance.
