To build tomorrow's bank today, we continue to maintain our focus on nuturing an inclusive workplace, grounded on the foundations of equality, care and respect.
We believe in the positive that comes when all of our people feel supported and cared for at work, especially in those moments when you need it most.
Caring for each other is a key way we ensure everyone feels that they belong, and are safe and comfortable to bring their whole selves to work every day. We do this by looking out for each other, speaking up when things don’t feel right and respecting each other’s differences, while celebrating what we have in common.
Our people are encouraged to bring their unique perspectives, insights and ideas to enhance the quality of the decisions we make and strengthen our ability to step into our customers’ shoes.
It is why we’ve made commitments to continue our path to increasing diversity in leadership roles for both cultural diversity and gender diversity and to maintain our focus to be Australia’s most accessible bank and close the Indigenous employment gap.
Our six employee-led diversity networks play a key role in shaping our inclusive culture and fostering equality, care and respect by:
Yana Budjari means 'Come Together You Mob' in the Dharawal language from the South Coast of NSW.
Our employee network, Yana Budjari, is an important part of delivering CommBank’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), which aims to promote social, economic and financial inclusion to help close the life expectancy gap between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians. It provides a way for our people to engage with our reconciliation programs by getting involved and bringing the programs and supporting partnerships to life.
Mosaic - our Cultural Diversity employee network, is focused on embracing and leveraging cultural diversity to realise our business goals to improve our customers’ financial wellbeing. Mosaic provides thought leadership and leads a wide range of initiatives to build cultural awareness and respect, from an ambassadors program to training and even cultural celebrations.
Our accessibility and inclusion network, ENABLE, is committed to increasing awareness and fostering inclusion for people with disabilities by engaging employees with disability and allies of people with disability to act as champions of change.
Unity is CommBank’s vibrant LGBTI+ community and allies network. The network works on initiatives to foster a culture of inclusion and respect, empowering our people to bring their whole selves to work each day and celebrate sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
We have a number of initiatives to support LGBTI+ inclusion, such as:
AdvantAge’s purpose is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace, where our people feel valued, respected and able to do their best at every age and life stage.
The network represents employees in all aspects of age and life-stages and recognises that effective problem solving, customer service and decision making comes from a multi-generational workforce.
WeCan, CommBank’s gender equality network, recognises that everyone is affected by gender inequality and we all play an important role in advancing gender equality, at work and in society.
WeCan supports delivery of CommBank’s gender equality strategy, with activities directly focused on:
