Pros & Cons

  • There is so much support from every level of the business, including upper-level management. It may be a unique experience as a graduate, however I've found so many of the employees from different areas and at different levels of seniority make an effort to get to know new employees personally and show an invested interest in our development.
  • Positive work culture
  • Budget cuts
  • Hot-desking - we don't have set desks and move to a different desk every day/week. It means I have to fit as much as I can into my locker/drawers and take everything else home, as well as clear off and clean my desk every day. Then bring everything back the following day.
  • It felt like it took a bit of time to settle into the role and know exactly what you needed to do.

My organisation is great place to open doors for other government jobs externally. However it is possible to remain at CSC and still live a comfortable life.

There is a decent culture at CSC. Any time that there have been issues, I have had full support of my manager and the HR team. There are sometimes after work get togethers which are fun.

The CSC office is in a convenient location, nearby to lots of food options and the light rail station. It has fantastic facilities, which include free coffee machines and free yoga/Pilates classes run on lunchtimes during the week. The dress code depends on the team, it is normally smart casual

The interview process and assessments were very well organised. The graduate team were in contact regularly with updates. I felt the assessments were given context appropriately so we would understand where they tied into the role.

As a graduate I have flex time which has been great. It has allowed for a lot of flexibility as I adjust to working in an office and a new city. Management is very supportive and don't push for overtime.
