Outside of previous qualifications and work experience, it is important to adequately prepare for possible interview questions and know how to structure your answers. It was made known for my most recent interview that the STAR method was the answer structure required, so not adhering to this interview style would be a detriment.

Prepare by knowing the power industry (basics and trends) and having MANY examples ready from your previous jobs (even if it is working at Maccas or Woolies). Consider giving multiple examples for each question in the interview.
All the graduates seem to have done work in the power industry before. Either work experience, field work or consultants for a year or so. It will be different now as EQL takes grads from their scholarship pool so they will all have work experience in the power industry.

You want to come across as most importantly, a strong team player, sociable, and a good person. This means you should take care to explain what drives you and how you act in a team environment, as well as your commitment to safety and ability to work within an environment with diverse personalities and skillsets. Technical questions can mostly be handled by explaining your thought processes step by step, being logical, and remaining calm during the interview. It is more important to explain yourself well than it is to be 100% correct.

It would also help if you can get in contact with someone working there and get their advice on the interview process.
