Recruitment Process

Eligibility

Visa requirements:
You must have Australian/New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent residency when you submit your application. Unfortunately, temporary visa holders are not eligible for our programs.

Minimum credit average:
To be considered we ask for a minimum overall weighted average mark of 60%.

Graduate applications:
To be eligible, you must be in the final year of a university undergraduate or postgraduate degree, or have completed your university studies within the past 24 months of applying. This is from the time you complete your final unit or subject, not 24 months from your graduation date.

Degree types:
We offer a range of graduate opportunities for a wide variety of degree disciplines, including: Engineering (Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Electrical), Accounting, Environmental, Sustainability, Commercial Law, Surveying and Occupational Health & Safety. If your degree or major isn't listed here, we would encourage you to explore our website to learn more about our business areas and which would be the right fit for you.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a short video interview as the next step in our recruitment process. If successful at this stage, you will then be invited to attend a face-to-face interview with a few of our senior leaders.

Our Graduate Program:

Our National Graduate Program is offered across our Construction, Infrastructure Services, Utilities and Finance businesses.

By undertaking the Fulton Hogan Graduate Program you will contribute to our vision of being a successful and enduring infrastructure company and embody our REAL values - Respect, Energy & Effort, Attitude & Leadership. You will have the opportunity to connect, improve and care for the communities in which you live.

Graduates usually start with us in February as a permanent employee, but the length of your program can vary. You will be empowered to choose the pace and order for acquiring skills, knowledge and experience, while working alongside teams of professionals in an environment that is rewarding, challenging and fun. We also expect our graduates to be agile and willing to relocate to take on opportunities across the country to progress their career development.

Our graduate program includes:

  • A tailored career development framework – this provides a flexible structure for you to develop the knowledge, skills and experience required to create a solid foundation for your career.
  • Genuine hands-on experience acquired through your exposure to departments/projects within your chosen business stream, in addition to working alongside respected professionals in your chosen sector.
