Jie Ye

Get a glimpse into the day in the life of a recruitment intern at Fuse with our intern Jie.

8:30 AM

I arrive at the office! Usually, the first thing I do is to check my emails and calendar to see my tasks for the day, which could be anything from sourcing and prescreening candidates, conducting reference checks, writing job ads, or making candidate profiles for clients. This involves lots of calling and searching on various platforms such as Bullhorn or SEEK Talent Search, so having the confidence to just get through them is key as it can get quite hard to find the right candidate!

12:30 PM

Lunchtime. Most of the time I like to grab a sandwich from the café downstairs and make myself a cup of coffee to get through the rest of the afternoon.

1:30 PM

Time to get back to work! Usually, I have completed most of the work before having lunch, so I finish off anything that is left and then ask the team if they need any help with completing anything. The tasks vary day by day, depending on what the team needs help with.

4:45 PM

Time to go home!

6 PM

After arriving home, I would normally go to Pilates – which I try to go to at least 3-4 times a week.

7:35 PM

Dinner time! I usually cook something quick or grab takeaway on the way home from gym. I normally watch a Netflix series while cooking, which I’m currently watching “The Pharmacist” which is a very interesting documentary on the opioid epidemic in the US that I highly recommend.
