What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
I am a literal scientist, (albeit a graduate), but I still struggle to feed my kids and pay my mortgage. That isn't so much a symptom of GHD underpaying it's staff and more a symptom of large corporations making big profit margins and huge mark-ups.
Graduate, Other (Please specify) - Newcastle
Mostly satisfied, however field hours can stretch out beyond paid time frequently. I think this should be better compensated.
Graduate, Sydney
I feel that the pay is at a good, competitive rate, especially for graduates coming straight out of uni. I don't know if there are bonuses at GHD.
Graduate, Sydney
Pay seems on the lower side for industry
Graduate, Other (Please specify) - Newcastle
Pay is average and would prefer it to be higher based off other salaries I have heard of from uni cohort. Companies values are good enough though that its a trade off. Havent heard about any bonuses.
Graduate, Other (Please specify) - Newcastle
I think my pay is good for an entry level position. No bonuses really at GHD.
Graduate, Brisbane
There are no bonuses, at least at Graduate level. Pay is average to below average for this industry, type of work and position.
Graduate, Brisbane
While I am just a graduate, pay isn't extremely competitive and I think is one reason why a number of graduates leave after a couple of years. I think pay progression/bonuses could be more competitive if they hope to retain more graduates.
Graduate, Other (Please specify) - Cairns
I think the pay for the graduates is fair. Although I think the graduates who go above and beyond to should be recognised more.
Graduate, Sydney
Very standard.
Graduate, Melbourne
The pay is pretty standard. No bonuses
Graduate, Brisbane
There could be more benefits. Pay could be more competitive. Benefits aren't made too clear.
Graduate, Brisbane
The bonuses for graduates should be relevant to perfomance
Graduate, Melbourne
I was not aware there is a bonus at GHD (at least at my level). I think the pay is quite low compared to industry ($83,000) for a Graduate Environmentalist. Due to inflation, I think the pay should be higher.
Graduate, Sydney
Considering I'm a graduate, I appreciate having a livable wage.
Graduate, Melbourne
Although I have been happy with my pay so far, it is not remarkable by industry comparison in my opinion, and I expect appropriate increases as I move through my career and up the corporate ladder.
Graduate, Brisbane
We get a decent salary in the grand scheme of things but I feel it is on the low end of what engineers could expect. There are no bonuses that I'm aware of.
Graduate, Melbourne
Pay is low compared to other companies.
Graduate, Perth
Bonuses would be great, especially if deliverables exceeded expectations. A lot of overtime is often done to meet these.
Graduate, Sydney
The company is very fair in it's pay structure. Graduates are well paid comparative to other similar roles, however additional hours worked are not charged as over-time but rather time in lieu. This means no bonuses are offered.
Graduate, Sydney
What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
There is always left over food from meetings, so I save money and just eat the meetings left-overs.
Graduate, Other (Please specify) - Newcastle
I'm not too sure about the perks we get through the company
Graduate, Sydney
None that i use. Leave policies are generous however (can take as much as needed in my team option to buy more leave or just take leave without pay)
Graduate, Other (Please specify) - Newcastle
private health is good, as well as car rental/accommodation perks.
Graduate, Other (Please specify) - Newcastle
GHD will quite regularly hold outside events. Also some Christmas activities which are fun. The young professionals also have a fully paid seminar once a year which is fun.
Graduate, Brisbane
No perks are unusually good. Discounts for expensive rental companies (still more expensive than alternatives), discounts for gyms and health insurance (10-20% I believe). Free work polo haha.
Graduate, Brisbane
The purchase leave program where we can sacrifice some pre-tax pay for more annual leave offers more work-life balance and flexibility (although if pay were higher would be more attainable). Additionally, at times vouchers are awarded for good performance etc.
Graduate, Other (Please specify) - Cairns
Paid leave program is good, you can take up to 8 weeks leave per year by purchasing up to an extra 4 weeks leave per year
Graduate, Brisbane
Purchase leave policy
Graduate, Brisbane
Generous working overseas policy, free lunches sometimes and events.
Graduate, Sydney
Potential for work related travel
Graduate, Melbourne
I got a discount gym membership through GHD at Goodlife, which was very good.
Graduate, Brisbane
GHD's social clubs host great events on a fairly regular basis which are always free for employees and help to make the company a great place to work. GHD's purchase leave policy is good and lets you take additional time off with no judgement if you wish
Graduate, Melbourne
Free lunch with learning/meetings. Otherwise, i'm not sure.
Graduate, Sydney
Regularly we have fun activities that take place and are often experiences and chances for the team to connect and build friendships.
Graduate, Sydney
Tickets to technical conferences, potential to work overseas for a year
Graduate, Perth
Employee owned so employees can apply to purchase shares Relocation bonus to help with moving interstate Consistent free / cheap social events
Graduate, Perth
nothing of note
Graduate, Sydney
