7.8 rating for Culture, based on 10 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
The culture at the office and within my team is great. we do lots of social things together and I feel like I can speak to everyone

I think that you'll find that the majority of hires are great people. My team is always willing to answer any questions I have, and are keen to build friendships along the way. I have found that there are not too many people in my age group so I sometimes experience imposter syndrome and question whether I belong here or not. But I've spoken to people here and it seems most people go through this at some stage. I am grateful that they can be accommodating, reassuring and recognise the work you put in.

Our Hamilton Team is great. I love going into the office and being able to whanaunga (connect) with my collegues. I enjoy the celebrations we have of achievements, fortnightly meetings online and social gatherings that are organised. We are still trying to figure out the process and place of our cultural lead, and I have been disappointed with how that has been handled but again we are learning.

The culture is good. It is fine, not bad or great. The hierarchy of our team is fair, and I know my place within the team. The team all gets along really well, and it is a collaborative environment. The teamwork is great, and I know I can ask my team to support me, and they will. However, after hours there is barely anything. I would love to be able to go get a drink with some grads, my team or anyone and I would love to have the opportunity to be able to meet like minded people. I have heard reports from people in the Christchurch office where there is a lot of opportunities for grads to have various social activities but Auckland doesn't seem to have any

Company culture is poor, different business groups are very divided and lack cohesion or interaction in general. When working on a project thing run smoothly. However, outside of that it's kinda a mess. Outside of work hours the socialization aspect is abysmal. There is a social club (you have to pay $4 a week to become part of it). They organize events every 2 weeks. These "events" generally end up being pizza & drinks at the office (likely because GHD does not want to give them a decent budget) ... As a graduate you cannot join the committee to improve said events as "graduates end up leaving the company" so there you are, stuck organizing and paying for your own events to socialize with your peers.

Great office culture, friendly people. Good amount of office events, drinks, morning teas etc to meet people outside of your team.

The company culture is great, we do the stuff quiz on break and have social soccer in the evenings once a week. There is a great sense of teamwork and senior team member truly take your ideas seriously and don't make you feel small if you are unsure of things. Everyone is very open and welcoming.

Social club is excellent in our office and the best I've heard. In the graduate age group it's very good both inside and outside of work

Very in line with office hours, very flexible. Company is quite open, with lots of communication in between offices. Lots of social events, always open with socialising with other folk.
