I tend to work on technical documents and models. Attention to detail is important as these projects we work on are large scale a lot of the time. Sometimes it's layouts of a space, sometimes it's contacting suppliers, sometimes it's checking there are no typos or discrepancies in a document. In saying that, you learn a lot of different things and the task are varied. There are also lot of groups to join within the company which is a good opportunity to get involved and meet people outside your field. That is the advantage of a multidisciplinary company - you get to hear a lot of different perspectives and see how they interlink. It's also a way to engage in hobbies or improve upon skills you wouldn't normally do in your main role - it's also a good way to bulk up your CV.

I have a great balance of technical and non-technical work. I am able to lead in the Te Ao Māori cultural space which include organizing events, developing strategies, and coordinating our Kaimahi Māori Rōpū. I am on projects which add to my knowledge as a process engineer such as wastewater upgrades, optioneering and high-level design. I also support PMs on projects, complete admin tasks, do report writing, and engage with clients.
