Training & Personal Development at GHD New Zealand

7.2
7.2 rating for Training, based on 10 reviews
Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
Training opportunities have been great, a couple of the GDP sessions have felt a bit boring or not relevant to me
Graduate, Wellington
I think as a grad it would really make the role more motivating and exciting if we had more on site visits, though it is expensive. Managers tend to be quite hands off which has its pros and cons - you are able to develop on what you want to prioritise and develop your own personal goals, however if you are lost on where to begin it can be quite confusing. Then again always just reach out for some guidance and they will be happy to help

So many - how to communication, the importance of receiving feedback for improvement, developing long sections, corporate etiquette, the process for optioneering, skills for project management, data analysis, complying with standards.
Graduate, Hamilton
The graduate development programme is a disappointment, you will not learn anything from it. Training on the job is adequate and there is ample opportunities to develop yourself. Saying this, everything you want to develop is self driven..

On- job training from Buddy and other seniors. Constant support and encouragement from colleagues
Graduate, Auckland
We have a graduate programme that runs for 2 years. Having only done the first year its very workplace focused rather than technical training. Its all online sessions once a month ish. Different sessions like goals, communication, personal brand, then as the year goes on more technically like project management etc.
Graduate, Christchurch
I have learnt to do slug testing, hydraulic modelling and site investigations
Graduate, Palmerston North
Formal graduate program isn't as exciting and relevant as I was expecting it to be but informally learning on the job has been really good
Graduate, Christchurch
There are programs that aren't really enforced too much. Lots of learning modules and learning opportunities (e.g. legal seminars, project management)
