Our pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Boronia is GSK's largest manufacturing facility in the Southern Hemisphere exporting to over 30 markets around the world. It is also the fourth-largest sterile facility housing a state-of-the-art Blow-Fill-Seal production line. Blow-Fill-Seal uses innovative technology for advanced antiseptic liquid medicines.

Being a member of the Procurement team, you not only liaise with the Australian and NZ businesses, but you will also support the Sourcing Group Managers in Asia Pacific projects. You will be sourcing products and services which will make an impact on how efficient and effective GSK delivers it pharmaceutical and consumer products to the world. By working in Procurement, you will leave having a great understanding of how a global organisation operates which will indeed benefit you in your career aspirations.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage/facilitate procurement projects and develop strategies for implementation.
  • Participate in supplier engagement and gain an understanding of their business operations.
  • Analyse tender activities and potential supplier information, providing recommendations where appropriate.
  • Support contract negotiation and preparation.
  • Assist in supplier improvement programs.
  • Update the monthly metrics board, comparing data/trends

Candidate Characteristics:

  • You must be in your penultimate year of a Bachelors Degree in Business/Commerce, Supply Chain, Logistics. Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer students may also be considered.
  • An interest in pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical industry is favourable
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highly Analytical
  • Initiative and an eagerness to learn
  • High attention to detail, rigor and process
  • Excellent project management, to manage and prioritise multiple ongoing projects
  • Ability to quickly build strong internal & external networks
  • Strategic thinking and problem solving skills
