I have recently started as a graduate so I am not too sure. I understand our pay is competitive.
Above-average pay for mid-tier firms. However, no bonuses are offered to lawyers, unlike most major commercial firms. Bonuses are only offered to senior associates. As a graduate, your pay will be fixed within a band for a few years. The size of the band increases as you get more senior.
I believe that I am paid well for the standard of work that I produce and the hours I work.
I believe that bonuses should be used more to reward strong performance.
