Our Graduate Program across Auckland will encourage you to explore your potential and provide you with the tools and support to achieve your career aspirations and goals within an extensive development program. We're super excited to be growing our Graduate team in 2021 team with backgrounds such as Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and other related disciplines!

To be eligible for the IAG Graduate Program you must have:

  • New Zealand permanent residency or New Zealand/Australian Citizenship
  • Degree qualification or higher within the past 3 years for 2020 program (2018, 2019, 2020)
  • Applicants must have a credit average (65%) or higher

All application must have academic transcripts and resumes attached to be considered.

What does the program offer you?

It's an 18-month program with structured rotations giving you the opportunity to explore different projects, teams and ways of working. You'll be offered:

  • A structured induction and ongoing development program.
  • Competitive base + 3% Kiwisaver + performance-based bonus up to 10% + great benefits.
  • Support if you wish to continue your education through study assistance initiatives.
  • A dedicated coach/mentor and a buddy throughout the program.
  • The ability to work and collaborate with senior managers; and
  • The security of knowing you are a full time, permanent IAG employee from Day 1.

The Graduate Program begins in February each year and during this time, you will participate in courses, site visits and key projects across your technology area.

About the teams you'll rotate through:

Engineering Excellence - Our team is charged with building and owning IAG test and performance engineering frameworks and practices, continuous integration, and deployment tools. We work with modern technologies and cloud providers to support and uplift the capabilities of our colleagues in Technology.

Developer Experience - We provide engineering, risk and on-boarding services alongside reusable frameworks, products and capability for IAG engineering teams and cloud consumers. We are advocates for the developers and engineering experience, and we value contemporary technology principles such as Culture, Automation, Lean, Measurement and Sharing (CALMS)

Broker Experience - The team is part of the Broker Trading Platforms and is creating the services that will support our API lead integration strategy to allow our insurance brokers and their customers to do business with us more quickly, securely and provide access to better insurance products and experience.

The technologies that the team is currently working with are cutting edge serverless functions, Cosmos Database and the React Javascript UI framework deployed to the Microsoft Azure Cloud. The team organises its work and patterns to conform to Agile SCRUM and is passionate about CI/CD and test-driven development.
