Culture at K&L Gates

9.1
9.1 rating for Culture, based on 30 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
Structure-wise it is very set out in terms of hierarchy however socially speaking, senior partners and the like are very approachable and affable making the situation a lot less intimidating. In terms of cooperation and teamwork, colleagues from other practice areas are usually more than willing to lend a hand and provide their expertise on matters. Socially, colleagues regularly engage with each other whether it relates to work or just catching up on events. There are a range of events that people in the office attend and the mood is usually very cordial and friendly.
The firm's culture is very good - everybody works together to achieve set tasks and objectives. Social gatherings are always happening.
Whilst culture is strictly hierarchical (which is common for a law firm), there is not such a strict social divide between the senior and junior members - I feel comfortable talking to anyone. There is a big focus on teamwork, to the point where if one member has an urgent task then the whole team pulls together to assist. During office hours, everyone is quite friendly and the occasional laugh is definitely encouraged. There is a less of a culture outside the office, but this is not necessarily a bad thing.
Colleagues at the firm look out for one another. Although there is a formal hierachy, everyone is approachable and willing to have a chat. Also, the firm has a social club which encourages socalising and networking and is a lot of fun!
Friendly, exciting, fun
Both in and after hours the culture is amazing. Everyone gets along really well and they are very supportive about any ventures you are doing outside of work (i.e. sports or committees). The after hours is great - our social club organizes lots of events and everyone gets along so well that we often catch up after work. Structure is pretty standard for an international law firm, and same with the hierarchy. The teamwork and cooperation in my team is, in particular, very good and is very involved.
Everyone is accessible, kind and helpful regardless of rank. The team I am in is supportive, working around my commitments such as study. The communication is great which overall makes a very good working environment
Great culture! Everyone is very friendly and supportive. Everyone is kept in the loop through regular capacity meetings.
There is a very amiable and approachable culture in my team. I feel very comfortable approaching team members at all levels for both work and advice.
Supportive culture with peers that are willing to teach
Very chilled, lots of teamwork and socialising among colleagues, great support and lots of fun
Everyone is very friendly and down to Earth. It is a firm where a good personality is truly valued - and not just a catch phrase in a brochure.
Very supportive, not competitive. Values personal life and balance from what I can deduce so far.
Friendly and good banter. Everyone seems to get along and we have regular staff drinks.
It is very casual . I don't think you can escape the hierarchy in law, but everyone has an open door.
