Brief History of Mazars

Mazars came into existence in 1945 when Robert Mazars established an accounting firm in France. He also served as the first CEO of the firm till 1983, when he was succeeded by Patrick de Cambourg. After he took over the position, the firm began expanding internationally. As of 1977, the firm had a workforce of just 33 employees. Power changed hands again in 2011 when Phillipe Castagnac took over the position of CEO. The company has grown into a global network with a presence in more than 90 countries. In 2016, Mazars expanded to Austria when it acquired and integrated Duncan Dovico.

That same year, Mazars agreed to a merger deal with ZhongShen ZhongHuan, establishing the former’s presence in mainland China. As of today, Mazars has a global workforce of over 42,000 employees, and it serves different kinds of industries.
