Culture at McGrathNicol

9.3
9.3 rating for Culture, based on 10 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
I thoroughly enjoy the culture of the firm. While there is a hierarchy, it is never an exclusive atmosphere and good relationships exists across varying levels. It feels like the firm genuinely values culture and supporting new starters to feel welcome within the firm.

I really like the culture within my smaller team - there is a feeling of mutual respect and support. There is a bit of a disconnect with partners but apart from that the hierarchy is not strongly felt. There is a strong gender imbalance, however the team makes an effort to make me feel welcome. There are many social events and they help a lot with cohesiveness in the office, they are lots of fun.

Culture is good, however, can sometimes lack cross divisional events that help colleague mingle from other departments. When times are busy, it sometimes causes a lack of consistent team events in/out of office hours, however generally a very enjoyable environment

Very good. We are a supportive office and no matter if it is inside or out of office hours no individual isn't happy to speak to anybody else. When undertaking work, there is an open dialogue both ways when placed in unique circumstances and it is not an uncommon occurrence for a senior staff member to agree with a recommendation or course of action from a junior member as long as it on the correct path. We have social events during the week that allow team members to socialise outside of the office regardless of position or experience.

The culture at McGrathNicol is amazing, and it would be the reason why I would recommend anyone to work at the firm. While there is a pretty standard role hierarchy, all levels from partners, directors, and managers are all very approachable and as an analyst you get the opportunity to work side-by-side with partners. Managers are very supportive of your skills development as a graduate and create an environment that allows you to ask questions, solicit feedback and make improvements over time.

It's a small office so we're very tight knit and the vibe is on point, with many choosing to socialise together after hours. There's a lot of collaboration across teams within my own office and interstate offices on engagements. The structure allows every junior employee to have both a Counselling Manager and a Counselling Partner who oversee your career progression, and you work directly with the partners on jobs. The office is open plan (no individual offices) which helps keep management approachable.
