The firm is highly ?exible with work hours. While I prefer working from the o?ce, the 60/40 split (60% days office, 40% days remote) is welcomed and the ?rm is always accommodating to personal circumstances. In instances where you have no work due, there is no expectation to stay beyond work hours.

I did have to work a fair bit of overtime recently, however things have calmed down a bit now, so the number of hours is very manageable, especially when the time spent at the office is enjoyable.

We are very understanding. We can work 2 days a week from home but if there are outstanding circumstances that can be extended with no issue. The firm is understanding that people have lives outside of work and allow for flexible hours accordingly to fit in with your commitments.

As all our work is project based the actual hours you work are quite dependent on project timelines and client expectations. There's absolutely no 'last man standing' culture at the firm so if I've done all my work by COB I don't feel as though I have to stay and work later. However, project deadlines can often be tight and that usually results in some later nights. I have had very few days where I haven't been assigned on a project and often am assigned to multiple projects with different lead partners.

Typical hours in the office are 8.45 am - 5.15 pm, but personally I tend to come in at 8.30 and leave at 5 instead. So as long as you don't miss meetings and work the same total number of hours across the week it's pretty flexible. McGrathNicol also allow you to work from home a few days a week if you wish.
