About us

Melanoma Institute Australia (MIA) pioneers advance in melanoma research and treatment that are making a difference to the lives of patients today. We are a non-profit organisation dedicated to preventing and curing melanoma through innovative, world-class research, treatment and education programs. MIA is a national affiliated network of melanoma researchers and clinicians based in Sydney at the Poche Centre – the world’s largest melanoma research and treatment facility. It’s from here that our specialists pioneer new research, conduct clinical trials, develop new treatments and educate clinicians and patients on prevention, diagnosis and management of melanoma.

We live by our values, from the way we make decisions, to the way we serve our patients and the community. We are passionate about our goal of ‘zero deaths from melanoma’ and continue to lead the way in creating an environment inclusive of all employees.

What’s happening at MIA

MIA is currently undergoing a significant transition to build our capacity to deliver our goal of zero deaths from melanoma. We’re very excited about what the future holds and we’re looking for top talent to help take us there.

Our program

We’re looking for innovative thinkers who care deeply about our purpose. Our Graduate Intern Program is structured around paid 1-year internships. We are in the development stage of an additional 3-6 month internships. We know we need adaptable and future-focused people who can see the big picture. We support career development with tools, resources, and opportunities to progress your career. Our Graduate Intern Program encourages aspirational goal setting because we like our people to think big. We’re committed to your development and you will start as a Graduate Intern in our program with the possibility of being offered permanent employment after completion of the internship.
