Mirvac Leasing - Building relationships with retailers

The Mirvac retail business operates a broad range of retail properties ranging from neighbourhood, sub-regional and CBD / mixed use centres.

Mirvac has extensive experience in retail leasing with particular emphasis on our remixing capabilities in the metropolitan markets of New South Wales, Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory and Queensland.

The Mirvac Retail Leasing team has the goal of forging strong and productive relationships with their customer, the retailers. They are intent on ensuring that when you open a store in a Mirvac centre the experience from leasing, fit-out and through to trading is both professional and successful. Every aspect of our business is geared towards creating value for our stakeholders and delivering highly relevant and engaging experiences for our customers.

In recent times we have transacted with Apple, H&M, Sephora, Calvin Klein, Victoria’s Secret Beauty, Armani, Hugo Boss, Harrolds, Coach, Michael Korrs, Polo Ralph Lauren and Peters of Kensington to name a few..

Mirvac Retail can offer a full suite of in-house leasing services including leasing, retail design management and tenancy co-ordination. Our end-to-end in-house capability means retailers are serviced professionally from enquiry right through to tenancy fit-out.

Retail Division, Delivery & Development Team Internship – Sydney

What will you be doing in your program

Working with in our highly successful Retail division, with a mentorship from our senior management Retail Leasing Team you will assist with on key projects and reports associated with leasing and design management and leasing strategy planning. This team has a highly entrepreneurial focus and would be ideal for a student looking to build that capability further in their career. 

You will have access to broader Group activities including the chance to contribute to the community via our volunteering program, take part in social events, visit and learn more about our development sites and investment properties. 

Our mentoring program will help you be at your best and gain the most out of your time at Mirvac.

Internship Structure 

This is a full-time summer internship program designed to assist you to build your career in the Property & Construction Industry. 

  • 12 weeks full time Summer Internship within your team based at our Sydney CBD HQ. 
  • Participation of active projects both within your team and within our Innovation Projects;
  • Learning programs to build upon your professional and technical skills;
  • Networking opportunities across business teams and our Executive Leadership Team;
  • Guided lectures each week from our Management Leadership Teams; 
  • Support structure including the Team Manager who will mentor you, Buddy and Intern Program HR Team;

At the completion of your summer program a review meeting will be conducted, and you may be offered the opportunity to continue within your team in a tailorable working structure (Full time, Part Time or Casual throughout 2020 and beyond). This is based upon your performance throughout the summer and dependent on available business project workload and will be openly discussed throughout your summer program. Your continued employment beyond the program is not guaranteed, but there may be an opportunity for you and this is reviewed on a case by case basis for each student participating in the program. 

About you

Are you passionate about the property industry and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment? Do you look forward to challenges, are open to learning and possess excellent communication skills?

Applications are open to those who have completed or are completing a bachelor’s degree in either of the following; Property, Property Economics, Architecture, Commerce, Finance, Marketing or Business Management are due to graduate by the end of 2019 or 2020.

This role is open to Australian / New Zealand citizens, Australian permanent residents and international students eligible to work in Australia full time.

Application Process

Applicants will be assessed and progressed in multiple stages over the June to August time period. This process will include providing video interviews and invitations to attend an interview day in August.
