Pride Network

We value our people—they’re at the heart of everything we do.

All staff should be able to bring their whole selves to work. A workplace that respects diversity results in a more productive and creative workplace that represents the entire population we serve.

Diversity networks enable staff from different backgrounds to come together. They create a safe space for staff to share experiences, ideas and connect.

The NIAA has 6 diversity networks, whose main goal is provide support and connection to employees in the network. Your level of involvement is up to you: you can join an email list, take part in network events, or join a network committee and help organise network events.

Many different types of people work at the NIAA including many LGBTI+ people. We each bring an important perspective, informed by our different identities and experiences.

The Pride Network supports this by creating a platform for the agency to hear LGBTI+ perspectives. It also provides support and advocates for the distinctive needs of LGBTI+ staff.

The Pride Network recognises and celebrates people from all backgrounds, genders and cultures. Together with the other networks, they work to create inclusive spaces for all people. This includes women, Indigenous people, disabled people and ethnically and linguistically diverse people.
