Performing calcs, designing systems, communicating.
Day to day tasks: - Complete drawings of services layout for submission to tender/construction - Complete reviews/checks of other drawings submitted by contractors/companies to confirm for compliance - Design system layouts for new and existing buildings. Role: - to learn the different technical knowledge in the fire/electrical disciplines - to provide assistance in terms of "grunt work" for deliverables
take on mostly learning roles but I get to dabble in teaching other grads as well as some leadership roles in smaller projects
It is enjoyable contributing to projects as you learn how to properly complete the tasks required to lead a discipline in a project.
At the beginning of my career I was working alongside senior staff to get a grasp on the industry, including going to client meetings and attending site inspections. As I start to progress further into the company I am getting more autonomy to do all of these things on my own.
