Please provide further information on diversity with respect to women, ethnic minorities and LGBT. Please comment on issues such as recruitment, retention, promotion, child care, maternity leave, etc.
Highly prominent in communications, groups at work, and respectful work culture. Clearly a focus in hiring processes (lots of diversity amongst my graduate cohort).

The firm has a diversity and inclusion and RAP group. There is also a LGBTIQ group that has social events. There is an almost equal proportion of male and female employees and there are many females in high positions. Dietary requirements are generally catered too, although, halal food is often just vegetarian food.

Diversity is embraced at NRF, there are celebrations with relation to Mardi Gras, LGBTQI and the firm is heavily involved in Pro Bono, and the black lives matter movement. There are regular presentations and announcements with respect to diversity and inclusion, and it is my understanding that NRF has one of the highest ratio's of female partners across major law firms in Australia.

Set and achieved gender representation targets, symmetrical parental leave, accommodating of flexible working arrangements, seeks to include people of colour and those from the LGBTIQ community such that they can bring their whole selves to work

I think NRF's work flexibility is really admirable when it comes to considering the needs of women who have had children. I cannot comment on any other areas as I am not an ethnic minority or part of the LGBT community.

At the junior levels (clerk, grad, associate) there seems to be a very wide range of diversity with respect to women and people of colour. At the more senior levels, there are not as many women and almost no ethnic minorities. It seems the firm is very open to senior associates and above taking maternity leave, working from home to balance child care responsibilities etc. I am not sure how this works at the junior level or whether it is as open and accepted at the junior level

There is a real push for diverse representation at all levels and this is clearly been achieved, exceeding our targets on a number of fronts

What does your company do to attract applicants from less privileged backgrounds?
Highly paid, flexible hours, flexible approach to work from home arrangements.

The firm has a program for work experience for Indigenous students. During the application process, there is also a section which allows you to explain any hardship that may affect your grades or overall application.

Lots of support, especially regarding Indigenous Australians. The partnership with Jaramer Legal is an excellent example of this,
