I wanted to work for NSW Treasury because I saw that it offered a massively broad range of interesting and relevant work. To be able to contribute to designing and evaluating ideas and policies that are of importance to the state of NSW was a huge drawcard.

When I first started I was impressed by how diverse and welcoming everyone was. The staff really made an effort to get to know all of the grads and make them feel part of the team. Treasury really values a balanced work-life approach, with flexible working arrangements and heaps of social and sporting activities to get involved in.

One of the great things about the Treasury graduate program is the professional development program. The program covers the technical, interpersonal skills and government specific skills which you are able to utilise throughout your rotations.

You also get the opportunity to rotate through different parts of the organisation which help you understand all of the work that NSW Treasury does, and it is a great way to get to know everyone within the organisation. I’ve worked in the Fiscal Economic Group, Agency Budget & Policy Group and NSW Industrial Relations. Not many graduate programs can offer that kind of diversity!

The NSW Treasury grad program is a great way to transition from university into a professional workplace.
