Working Hours at Optus

8.6
8.6 rating for Working Hours, based on 52 reviews
How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
When I have to commute into the office, the hours are quite flexible and I usually arrive a bit later, I also leave an hour earlier and do some work on the train.

Optus mandates 3 days in office and 2 days work from home. I prefer going in office so my split is 4 days in, 1 day from home.

They ask us to come in at least 3 times a week. However, with the inconenient location, it is still a burden. These three days are flexible; however they have become stricter to date to come into the office. The head office in Singapore have also pushed the leaders at Optus to enforce a more stricter maintenance schedule.

My company is very flexible with work hours. There is flexibility to work varying hours during the week (e.g. if I had an appointment during my normal work hours, it would be fine for me to attend this appointment and make up the hours after I come back etc.). It's just a matter of communicating to my team, so that they are aware and can contact me when I'm back if needed.

Based on the teams that I've worked for, my hours are pretty flexible. I work three days in the office and two days at home. I usually work from 9am to 5pm everyday. Hours on Fridays are shorter because sometimes I'll clock off early.

Very flexible, 3 days in the office and 2 at home. Great flexibility especially for someone who moved interstate for the job.

My company is fairly flexible with work hours, however it is most beneficial to work during the traditional 9-5 time slot.

Its fine, but I strongly dislike the way leaders talk about coming in the office, without adequately acknowledging people with disabilities, parents, introverts etc. It is mandated that we come into the office 3 days a week.

Definitely work hour requirements are team/project specific. For the most part it is flexible and there is a wide understanding of the good blended ways of working encouraged throughout the organisation.

I work the usual 38 hours a week. It depends on the team but flexibility is ok. As long as you get your work done and you work ~ 38 hours a week, your start and finish times can be flexible, although we mostly stick to starting around 9 and finishing around 5.

I feel as though Optus could be more flexible with the hybrid policy. Many of the industry leaders and companies that Optus tends to liken ourselves too, give their employees more flexibility to choose the days they come into the office and allow them to work from wherever best suits them.

They are flexible and understanding of people's lives outside of work. They are usually happy to accommodate appointments during work hours and there is no expectation to work overtime or after 5.

I work in the office 3 Days a week (company standard). Hours are typically from 9-5:30, with that increasing during busy periods. Working from home is great, but I like it not being more than 2 days otherwise the company feels disconnected

The company is flexible with hours and days and my Managers reflect this in how they demonstrate BWoW and their understanding if something comes up. I like that in my current role, the hours are flexible and I can come in early/leave earlier if needed.

There is a great sense of flexibility in terms of hours, but not in terms of hybrid working. I think the gist is that if you get your work done, you're fine - you can go to the occasional appointment or take an early exit on Fridays. But the WFH culture is relatively strictly 2 days / week.

I work in office 3 days a week and from home 2 days a week. Management is extremely flexible with working hours which allows for doctors appointments, family care etc.

My boss have let me start work earlier and finish early which allows me to get home at a better time so I can go to the gym and enjoy my afternoon. They have been extremely supportive of my work life balance.

Would be better if it were a 4 day work week. Seems pretty flexible with hours, although culture around hours varies across teams.
