  • Flexibility
  • Felt like because I was hired in the technical space, I had to stay there.
  • The rate at which everything moves, it can sometimes be difficult to stay up to speed with what is going on with the business.
  • Quite a lot of different working ways across the company. Not a lot of standardisation which means moving between teams can be a little tricky.
  • The food gets snapped up too quickly

Career Prospects
There are always internal opportunities available at PEXA and often roles are only advertised internally to promote career progression for all employees. If unsuccessful, internal applicants are offered training to further increase their skills for next time. Being a start-up, PEXA is also rapidly expanding and we are constantly hiring for new roles, where promotions are readily available and accessible.

Corporate Social Responsibility
PEXA has partnered with many no-for-profit organisation to allow employees to give back in a meaningful way. PEXA also provides paid volunteer days to help go help an organisation of our choice. PEXA has also partnered up with NFP organisations to run hack days and come up with solutions to issues in our community.

Culture
Corporate Culture is definitely the most positive I have ever experienced. The level of support received as a graduate in addition to all the warm and friendly people willing to lend a helping hand is something that I feel very lucky and blessed to have. After hours, PEXArians continue the banter at bars and also at home. It truly feels like you are part of a big family working at PEXA. The office has an open plan layout, with teams sitting closely together and no one isolated. While there are offices for executives, there are plans to remove the walls so that executives sit amongst their colleagues. This should give some insight into the level of hierarchy here at PEXA.

Diversity

Diversity
PEXA recently created a D&I committee for all things diversity and inclusion. This committee has recently been responsible for the majority of the internal events that promote LGBT and other issues. Most recently, PEXA celebrated International Women's Day where we had speakers presenting about the important women in their lives and the impact they have on a daily basis.

Office Work Environment
Extremely relaxed and functional office. Very open plan, minimal cube offices. Large encouragement of 'hot desking'. Great facilities below the office for food and entertainment. Also has shower facilities for employees who cycle in or exercise at lunch etc. Dress code is very casual. Lots of people wear jeans and t-shirts. It encourages you to dress more formally if you're interacting with clients/customers.

Recruitment
My interview process was a standard process for a graduate program. I initially applied for my role by sending in my CV and later received a link to conduct a video assessment (which I completed at the very last minute). PEXA then invited me into their offices where I had a personal interview with all 3 of the direct managers of the rotations the graduate program was hiring for. Shortly after, on the same day, I received my formal offer!

I feel really lucky to be getting paid for my graduate program and at quite a high level. I was also very surprised when I found out that I would be receiving a bonus on top of that.

We also have tech bite sessions where we present a topic which can include hands on training. Throughout my time i have picked up many skills such as: programming, DevOps, data analysis, testing, agile and much more.

The company is very flexible. Each team has their own way of working. Some like to start early and finish early where as others start later and finish later. Due to the pandemic, the way of working has changed and PEXA has adapted whilst keeping its productivity.
