What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
We don't get bonuses, our pay is significantly less than public healthcare but we oversee more patient care.
Graduate, Brisbane
Pay is good - grateful for the new pay increase. Now just need patient ratios sorted so I don't have to nearly kill myself with stress and over work every shift.
Graduate, Brisbane
I think the pay is good especially since the rise, however nursing pay in general (in my opinion) should be higher.
Graduate, Gold Coast
I think its embarrassing how little we are rewarded.

Great

No bonuses available. Pay structure is not equivalent Australia wide. Overtime and penalty pay is often not paid effectively, requiring staff followup.
Graduate, Warners Bay
The pay is standard. Bonuses would be lovely but unlikely.

I never got into nursing for the money, but on average I am paid less than my colleagues in the public health system despite working more hours and arguably under greater stress. Ramsay Healthcare's current negotiations regarding a new EBA are insulting.

I feel as though we are run off our feet and underpaid. I don't feel as though I know of any bonuses. I can't access any of the Ramsay perks, it doesn't work. Sometimes we have to wear lead for 10 hours straight essentially and we are the only hospital in Perth that doesn't receive an extra allowance for this. We also have such limited time between cases to prepare and often when we are still setting up the surgeon is trying to rush in and start the procedure before we have even gotten a chance to count. In public they would probably achieve 1/4 of the cases we do in a day if that and they have 3 nursing staff to a theatre, we only have 2 even though the ACORN standards state 2.5, we rarely have clinical support available therefore not meeting the standards.
Graduate, Perth
As an NDIS support worker, I think they need to improve how to manage their NDIS workers, as it is hard to look aftr 9 pts plus an NDIS participant which requires max assistance.
Level 2/ Yr2, Sydney
It is a shame that nurses in the private sector are paid less than at the public hospitals even though our ratios are higher.

It works for me.
Graduate, Sydney
At the time I was hired, I was quite happy with my pay. However, with the current cost of living crisis and with most graduate scheme paying significantly more than we are currently earning, I think future graduates should receive pay rises in line with the current news and trends.
Graduate, Sydney
Pay rates in line with or similar to other EBAS
Graduate, Melbourne
I believe we should be paid the same as public. We are understaffed and do more work for less pay.
Graduate, Brisbane
Needs to be much higher
Graduate, Brisbane
Could be better pay
Graduate, Brisbane
Pay is low, no salary packaging or any bonuses at all
Graduate, Melbourne
I assumed having previous nursing experience it would be more than it is but that will change over time I'm sure
Graduate, Melbourne
Should be aligned with public sector. It's a joke

What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
Discounted private health insurance Free onsite parking Scholarships for further study
Graduate, Brisbane
These are very difficult to establish what they actually are?! No clear guide how to find them and make best use of them. Probably on intranet but absolutely no time to look on there again due to patient ratios.
Graduate, Brisbane
Not equivalent (below) to public health system
Graduate, Warners Bay
Ramsay as a private company are lacking in the salary packaging perks available in public hospitals. The leave policy sounds great but I don't see the advantage of paying for additional leave - you might as well take leave without pay. Free parking at the moment is the best benefit but I expect that this will end soon and parking will go back to being $40+ a day. The private health insurance benefit only benefits you if you have high levels of cover anyway. You don't chose to work at Ramsay for any of the perks - that's for sure.
Graduate, Sydney
Perks? We get pizza occasionally.

Graduate, Gold Coast
Generous leave policies, private health insurance and free parking permit.

Myer vouchers for doing extra shifts are nice. I would like to see superannuation, car, and laptop salary sacrifices come into effect as Queensland Health does.
