I’ve always been interested in the intersection of successful commercial businesses and marketing/advertising creativity, with the FMCG industry being a clear example of how this can work well. I came to work at RB through doing a bit of research in the industry and applying online to their Summer Internship Program to see if this was the right option for me- turns out it was exactly what I wanted. From the Internship I transitioned into the Graduate Program.
RB offer their Grads a range of experience across at least two functions of the business. As an Assistant Brand Manager on some leading brands such as Strepsils and Vanish Napisan, I launched new products into the market, worked with agencies to develop creative, shot advertisements and also learnt how to effectively project manage and create a profitable brand through commercial decision making. In my current commercial sales role, I have direct contact with one of our largest customers (Coles) to ensure we are making the best deals and working with them to maximise sales that benefits both parties through managing promotions and instore activities. I also support the other Coles Account managers by providing them with insights into the drivers behind their results and present revenue and in market trackers back to the leadership teams so they can make effective decisions.
