The RDA Summer internship program provides a platform to launch your career in the defence industry. The 12 week program provides students with hands on experience, access to technical mentoring, challenging real world projects, professional development and structured performance feedback with opportunities to be considered for our Graduate Program. 

We offer paid work experience to Engineering students who are currently in their penultimate or final year of undergraduate study in Mechanical, Robotics & Mechatronics, Materials, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Automotive Engineering.

About your new team

Our summer interns will be embedded in engineering teams based out of our state-of-the-art Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank. This contemporary and one-of-a-kind facility includes a production hall, test track, firing tunnel, EMC Chamber and training auditorium spread out on 11 hectares alongside the Brisbane River offering students the opportunity to have hands on experience with military vehicle manufacturing process.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:  

  • Students in their penultimate or final year of study for an Engineering degree majoring in Mechanical, Robotics & Mechatronics, Materials, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Automotive Engineering.
  • Must be available to work full time between 18th November 2024 and 21st February 2025 with two weeks off over Christmas.
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (so must hold Australian Citizenship).
