How accessible are managers and do they make good mentors? You may want to address internal communication, performance feedback or praise and recognition.
My managers are accessible and good communicators, offering regular performance feedback and recognition.

I barely speak to my manager and I feel that they have little interest in who I am. This is not the same across the department and I look forward to working with some of the other managers in the future.

This can be very variable across the department, but I personally am very satisfied. Always accessible and supportive, sharing advice and contacts who might be helpful for career goals.

I find that the higher in the organisation you go, the less you feel you need to push down on the people below you. I enjoy interacting with my Executive Director, for instance, and despite the fact I'm a graduate, he doesn't ignore or overlook me. However I find that my direct managers can at times micromanage a little, although this has improved the longer I have been in the team. In my division in particular, people seem quite busy and I have felt hesitant approaching them with small things. Overall, I am able to talk to them if it is necessary, however they can sometimes give the impression that they don't want to be bothered.

This is overall really good, my manager is not only and excellent mentor herself but is quick to find me other people that might be more experienced in an area I'm working in. It is easy to communicate with my direct manager and her manager. It can get a bit trickier after that level but with a bit of time and support from my managers it can be done.

Top leadership roles appear to be filled with strong leaders that are directing DEECA in a positive, progressive direction. Cannot fault them. There is a big difference in leadership capabilities for rotation supervisors. Some are terrific, understand Grad needs well. Others are not effective leaders and can make it a challenging start. However - the Grad Management Team is always there for support and you never feel alone.
