Here at Telstra, our purpose is to build a connected future so everyone can thrive.

The telecommunications industry is experiencing enormous growth; network traffic is growing faster than any other period of time and digital technology is changing our world.

Our people are at the heart of this change – and as Australia’s leading telecommunications and technology company, we’re helping to make it happen by connecting people together and to their devices.

Summer Vacation Program

Our paid, 12-week Program, which starts in November this year, has been specifically designed to give you hands-on work experience as well as immersive development and learning opportunities.

It also feeds into our Telstra Graduate Program, which means if you’re one of our top performers you’ll be considered for early offers.

What you’ll be doing as a Network Engineering intern

You’ll get an insight into how our network teams plan, design and construct our world-class networks and products across fixed, wireless and media technologies.

What skills and experiences do you need?

We’re looking for students who are currently studying a degree like Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Software Engineering or Mechatronics with an interest in how our Network operates.

We’re also looking for people who are curious about technology, have an entrepreneurial spirit, are an innovator, a problem solver and a critical thinker.

Program eligibility

Our Summer Vacation Program is open to university students who are in the penultimate year of their studies of a minimum three-year undergraduate degree from an Australian university or those undertaking their master’s degree. So, you will need to be graduating in 2021 in order to be eligible.

International Students who have a valid visa that enables them to work in Australia without any work restrictions are eligible to apply for this pathway.

We welcome applications from Indigenous Australians, people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds and people living with a disability. We encourage you to talk to us about how we can support you through the recruitment process.

Applications close at 11.59PM AEST Monday 27 July 2020.
