We try to always have a good balance between men and women on the training program. I'll say that to be a tech and data company, the gender relation is quite good.

I don't think that they recruit based on making the company more diverse. They recruit on the best people for the role no matter their background or characteristics.

Everybody at the entry and mid-levels is on exactly the same pay, so there's no pay gap below the senior people. Recruitment is really even at the Data School. It's quite male-heavy in the senior ranks, but they're working on it.

The recruitment process is consistently evaluated to see if the company is adequately representative. We also hold events to target the area we feel we are lacking, for example we recent held a data and women event in our offices.

The company has employees from a very diverse range of backgrounds. The gender split is very good for a company in this space.

Very open. For example, people noticed there were fewer women applying than men (which I think is a marketing problem across all STEM roles) - and took it upon themselves to run a training session purely for women to encourage them to apply! A super initiative and highly successful, as we had some applicants following on from the session!

The company is very well diversified we have almost a 50:50 women representation and it is very well diversified for ethnic minorities.

Very committed to diversity.

What does your company do to attract applicants from less privileged backgrounds?
The hiring process is focus on interest, passion and wish to learn. So your degree or where have you studied is not important. That allows people from different backgrounds apply and join.

They treat them like everyone else.

Nothing explicitly as yet. But the recruitment process, where CVs aren't considered, does help to address bias towards big name universities.
Midlevel, London, UK
Yes, by not requiring CV's the company does not discriminate on an applicants background.

The interview process is CV blind - you are judged on the work you create and that is pretty much it. At no point did I send a CV. They don't care about where you went to school or anything like that, only what you created.

To be honest, I'm not close with the hiring process - so I'm not the best person to ask; however, the Core team of consultants do visit various careers fairs across the country and don't seem to favour applications from one type of background. For example, all of the Data School intakes have been markedly different in make-up - in ethnicity, background, and personality.

The company doesn't look at CVs. They don't care about where you went to school, as long as you are passionate about Data Viz you are considered the same as everyone else.
Midlevel, London
Your CV is not something they are interested in, rather your ability with the software and your willingness to learn
Graduate, London
CV is not really the key to be hired, it's more a mix of passion and will to learn the programmes they sell.
