I have always been fond of trains, aircrafts and everything that transports something from one point to the other. Toll offers such extensive networks with diverse forms of transport.

Why did you choose Toll?

I have always been fond of trains, aircrafts and everything that transports something from one point to the other. Toll offers such extensive networks with diverse forms of transport. In addition, I was also impressed with the Graduate Programme’s recruitment process. Toll lived up to the value of ‘Being Open and Transparent’ from the start.

What’s the coolest thing about your job?

Being able to get in and ride a 26m, 730 horsepower truck. Witnessing trucks, planes and trains get loaded from time to time with just about every kind of products including live fish, cars and chocolate. Also, meeting loyal and motivated people especially those who have been with the company for decades.

What are some of the challenges of your job?

One of the challenges will be the generation gap between myself and other employees. The distance of the depots from home is also challenging in addition to having to travel early in the morning. However, in saying that, working in operations can be flexible too!

What's been your biggest takeaway from the Graduate program so far?

My biggest takeaway will be ‘be yourself’ and don’t be afraid to challenge the status quo - just do it. Speak up and take the initiative. Communicate, it is very critical especially in a time-sensitive industry such as logistics. People will appreciate the way you are if you are true to yourself. Authenticity and honesty go a long way.
