Management at Transgrid

7.7
7.7 rating for Management, based on 19 reviews
How accessible are managers and do they make good mentors? You may want to address internal communication, performance feedback or praise and recognition.
I have been very satisfied with my managers so far throughout my time at this company, and feel that they have been immensely helpful and personable. Perhaps it is more of an individual personality thing, but they were always so easy to approach and talk to, cared genuinely for my development and were always on the lookout for great opportunities for me. I was and still am able to call them at any time for advice, professional or personal, and this has been such a great development for me from previous working environments. There is an official performance and development process which the graduates are expected to complete with the managers, however this sometimes feels a little lacking/too complicated, and doesn't always reflect the real work being performed.

Almost all my managers have been excellent. Those that weren't, were not my managers for long enough to be excellent.

Direct managers are great but often being that its a big company it can be hard to escalate problems quickly.
I am incredibly satisfied with my managers. They have all treated me with respect, and have guided me well throughout my time here. They make wonderful mentors with insightful performance feedback, and the company as a whole is shifting in favour of recognising individuals achievements.
I transition into new roles every 6-months. This means I have numerous managers. In my experience and under two managers, I believe they have contrasted each other: One was engaging whilst the others was reluctant.

Managers are very involved in each of their teams. One on one catch ups are common and these often occur on a fortnightly basis.

My managers so far have been great. Give great feedback and have been very patient with letting me settle in and allow me to work autonomously.
Hit and miss, some are amazing - they mostly leave you to fend for yourself which as a graduate is quite neglectful
Yes, very satisfied, I've learnt the most of the most senior experienced colleagues.
