Training & Personal Development at Transgrid

8.2
8.2 rating for Training, based on 19 reviews
Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
As the nature of our work is very high-risk, there is thorough and substantial training which is required and administered at Transgrid. This includes internal PSSR training (Power Systems Safety Rules) which is delivered both online and in person, in a substation, as well as Australia-recognised technical qualifications/certificates which are required. During my time as a graduate, I've also been able to undertake additional training, and at one stage was even able to attend a 3-day seminar which was aimed at non-technical people working in the power industry, which was perfect for a new starter like me to learn the less-detailed but highly-relevant aspects of the overarching power business. I have so far received: LVR + CPR, First Aid, PSSR (internal), Asbestos and Silica Awareness.

Informal training is very good. Formal training has been good in the past, but I have not had formal training for 6months+

lots of safety training but as a grad there was also lots of soft skills and social awareness training
There is a variety of training, including facilitation training I have personally found incredibly beneficial.
Good. However, in the process of development and refining.

There are a number of online workshops which can develop your skills and knowledge of the transmission industry so don't stress if you don't know much right now.

Programmes are ok but they are not as frequent.
Transgrid is heavily focused on development and continuous improvement by implementing training both in person and virtually.
Training for everything required.
