I do a range of policy work. It's mainly reactive and often done in tight timeframes. Every day I'll be doing something different and I often won't find out what I'm going to be doing one day until somebody hands me a task at 10am.
Given a reasonable amount of responsibility both in core profession and outside (ie OHS responsibilities)
Advising the Minister/Premier. Preparing briefs and correspondence. Contract negotiation. Work that comes out of Parliament.
Researching current policy issues; writing briefs containing economic advice for Ministers; building supporting models and conducting econometric analyses.
